“Sertorius is our earthiest roast, and a good brew unlocks its full range of nutty and floral notes. Aeropress and pour over accomplish this well, but so does a moka pot — in fact, it’s my go-to roast whenever I brew that way. The Sertorius roast is like the man it’s named after: nuanced, multifaceted, and always more than meets the eye.”

Each morning, I spend time contemplating the lives of the men I admire most. Not only does Imperium Coffee help with that, but it’s also a great cup of coffee – I love this stuff.

From the Land of a Thousand Hills…
The Sertorius roast blends our Guatemala single-origin beans (used in our Caesar roast) with beans from Kigali, Rwanda — the “Land of a Thousand Hills”.
Grown over a mile high in elevation, the beans from this region are known for their vibrant citrus and red berry flavor notes. Once harvested and washed, the beans are then left to sun-dry on raised tables for 15-20 days to round out their earthy and natural character.
Battle of Castillon

This painting captures the moment the French turn the tide of battle and finally triumph in the Hundred Years’ War. Even though all had seemed lost years prior, they kept fighting in the face of impossible odds — their victory, shown in this painting, reminds you to do the same.
Most brands sell you coffee roasted 3-6 months ago. We don’t roast until you place your order. Trust us, you’ll taste the difference.
Our 100% arabica beans are grown by local farmers between 4,000-6,000 ft in altitude. Cooler air at this elevation slows maturation to produce dense beans with bright acidity, rich taste, and a complex flavor profile.
Each bag of coffee contains motivating quotes, artwork, and life lessons from great men. Take inspiration from those who left their mark on history, so you can leave yours.
When it comes to handling the whims of fortune with skill and dignity, you’d be hard pressed to find a better guide than Sertorius. Made in collaboration with The Cost of Glory Podcast, this roast is inspired by the lush Spanish forests its namesake fought in. Referred to as the “new Hannibal”, Sertorius skillfully allied with native Iberian tribes and excelled at guerilla warfare to lead an impenetrable resistance against Rome. This roast is designed to help you imbibe his same warrior spirit: brew it strong, drink it long.
